Double Union Jack at Toronado
Firestone Walker released it’s new foray into the world of big beers, the Double Union Jack. The SLO based brewery is perfectly positioned halfway between Stone and Anchor – they have one foot in tradition, and one foot in the extreme beer movement. The result is this beer.
The recipe is essentially their regular Union Jack, doubled. At 10% ABV and 100IBUs, it’s a remarkably balanced beer that goes down deceptively easy. Brewmaster Matthew Brynildson was on hand at the Toronado for the local unveiling, along with a few of their other hoppy offerings.
