NHC Pro Night

The National Homebrewer’s Convention is off to a rocking start.  I can’t make it to the educational sessions during the week, but am trekking out on BART to Oakland in the evening for the festivities. Last night was Pro Brewers Night, and the brewers came out swinging.  They broke into some highly desirable beers for an appreciative (and surprisingly small) crowd. Some of my favorites being poured included Anchor’s Our Barrel Ale, Speakeasy’s Barrel Aged Porter, Ballast Point’s Brandy Barrel Dobblebock, (feel a pattern forming here?), SacBrew’s Beersel, and Lost Abby’s Cuvee De Tomme.

A few pictures from last night’s festivities:

There are many, many more photos as one might expect, which you can see here.

Then tonight there’s Club Night, featuring some of the finest homebrews from around the country.  I’m very excited to have contributed a keg of “Mission Ale” which was brewed in the Mission, then kegged with a diabolically large amount of Ritual Coffee Roaster’s Single Origin Ethiopian Coffee.  Find on tap at the BABC table. I’ll bge manning the taps from 10:00 to 10:30, so please come by to say hello and sample my club’s wares.  Cellarmaster Mike Mcdole (of HAZE) was kind enough to let me into the trailer/cellar last night.  Here’s a little sneak peek of what you can expect.  I’m told my keg is in the back, right corner, but I couldn’t find it.
