Want Some Homebrew?
This Thursday, I’ll be pouring homebrew at 18 Reasons for a Beer and Cheese tasting. It should be a good time - there will be great homebrew and cheeses from Bi-Rite. Rob of PFIFF! will be contributing as well, and if they’re anything like the homebrew of his I tasted this past weekend, Bi-Rite better be kicking in some big blue cheeses to stand up to this abuse. The event is open to the beer freak and the curious alike – everyone is welcome. If you’ve never had the chance to have homebrew, this is a great introduction. One of the beers I’ll be pouring is a Belgian Wit:
I bottle conditioned it, and it’s turned out pretty good. It’s dry, there is a subtle spice finish from the bitter orange and coriander, and lots of carbonation. I wish it had a more clear wheat flavor – but there is always next time to tweak the recipe. I’ll be pouring this beer, along with a few other treats – including my first brett beer experiment – so why don’t you stop by for a taste?
If any other local home brewers are interested in kicking in some beers, drop me a line.
PS – Hey Rob, got any Old Fashioned Ale left? What about the Oatmeal Cookie, that ready yet?
PPS – Dear Bi-Rite – Can I please have some of Cowgirl’s Sir Francis Drake that just came out to pair with my Wit beer? Please?

Alas, the yummy if misnamed Old Fashioned Ale is gone. But I’ve posted a poll on Pfiff! for folks to decide which other abominations we should summon for this week’s tasting here. Looking forward to more of your wit and brett experiments!
