The Brewmaster’s Beard

I’ve noticed a common thread amongst brewmasters – a deep and abiding love of facial hair.  Although it’s not universal (there are some notable female brewmasters, and some very talented clean shaven male ones) it seems to be a common thread with malt and hop wranglers.  The more time they spend bend over a mash tun, the more likely it is they will have a giant untamed mass of hair coming off their chin.

So I’m proud to present, an ongoing photo essay collection: The Brewmaster’s Beard.  Oh, and a few non-brewmasters with notable facial hair made the cut as well.   Float your cursor over the picture to find out who the brewmaster is and where they brew.  Enjoy!

Steve & Josh, weak effort! Now that I brew, Brian Thorson, watch out. (I could grow a 5 o’clock shadow by the end of the weekend.) Can’t wait for future installments.

  2. Jim Says:

I’ve noticed this and thought that their facial hair was generational since they seem to have been young adults (or impressionable teens) during the goatee fad of the 1980s.

I’m pretty sure I went to college and knocked back quite a few King Cobra’s with that last mug.
