George’s BBQ
I stopped by the new George’s BBQ on 24th St and Capp on a Sunday evening. The hosts were warm and enthusiastic, the the BBQ sauce was smokey and delicious. After very little prodding was I talked into the giant plate of meat seen below (for $11.99!)

Everything is laid out on a large hot table, and ready to go – salads and baked potato are included with most everything, and they offer large orders of meat to go if you want to cater a party.
My recommendations: pastrami, dark meat chicken, and the ribs, with sauce on everything.

I hate to say this, I really wanted to like this place, but the food sucks!
George used to work at Pete’s BBQ on 20th and Mission. He should have copied Pete’s condiment spices. He copied everything else from Pete. Except for the world’s ugliest beach scene decor – Who eats BBQ on the beach, anyhow? It’s a shame, George could have taken this place and made it city wide known for it’s BBQ, instead it’s a poor copy-cat version of his last place of employment. It’s still early enough in the game for George to change things around and create his own unique eatery. Sorry George, I really wanted to like you but mediocre food in the City will get you only sad faces —-> :-(

WOW! The people below who made bad remarks made a mistake by COMPARING George’s BBQ to any other spot they are used to. George’s BBQ has its own style of cooking as well as flavor. The restaurant was spotless, unlike many other restaurants nearby. Great ambiance, friendly staff, the owner was very friendly as well. Truly a great family place with exceptional pricing. The salads were tasty. As I waited for the fresh ribs to come off the rotisserie I noticed they prepared all the salads from scratch. Not from a package. Very impressed. We will definitely make it our weekly spot.

Hey George,
This place is yummy, yummy!! This is the best BBQ ever!!! I’m so happy you’ve opened this place in the Mission. It was well needed. There hasn’t been good food in the Mission for a long time and it’s time we got something new and refreshing. Thanks again for your great customer service and great tasting food. Congratulations and best wishes in your new business. I will definitely be loyal customer to George’s BBQ on 24th and Mission.
